Science Behind Safety Edge

 

 

The Safety Edge is a two-part bolster system surrounding the air tubes on all PressureGuard products.  When the user rolls toward or sits on the edge of the mattress, the inner of the two parts bends in toward the center of the mattress, while the outer part resists compression.

Standard, fully air-filled mattresses collapse as the patient rolls toward the edge, directing the patient into the siderails or onto the floor.
